Sims 3 Forces laptop to RESTART

Since there was a new update, the game would randomly crash. Not only crash to the desktop but force my laptop to restart to prevent any damage. 
HELP!

Yes, and I was able to play for about 30 minutes or so. Now I can't play at all.
