This product requires an installed copy of the sims 3

I have a Sims 3 copy bought from steam and I have Sims 3 Seasons cracked, I keep getting this error that says "This product requires an installed copy of the sims 3" what can I do?

The Steam copy doesn't work with Origin or normal copies of The Sims 3, you can download it from Origin and it will work. (I recall a post I post a link to a guide on how to do it, but will have to look around some, will edit my post once I find it.)

Edit: For some reason I can't seem to find the topic.
