Please help, I'm not very computer-savvy, so I would like someone to walk me through it.

1. Install The Sims 3 and all expansions you like, but install AT LEAST one of the following expansions: Supernatural, Diesel Stuff, Katy Perry Sweet Treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff, Generations.* (You may skip all the "# Crack" folders. You DO NOT need to use any "# Crack" folders!)
I already bought The Sims 3, so I guess I'll install Generations. I also want to install Ambitions and Late Night. So with the help of WinRAR and Daemon Tools, I'll download a torrent from Piratebay "The Sims 3: Generations [FULL] * Games4theworld *". But I know that after it finishes downloading, I have to use the keygen in order to install these expansion packs. But someone here said that I don't have to mount it or crack it (which I guess means using keygen), so this is confusing to me.
2. After you've installed all the games you want, download and apply this manual patch: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v133-fix-manual-patch
Ok, seems easy enough. But how do I apply it?
3. When it finished updating your game to the latest version, re-download the latest version of our Ultimate Fix: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems.
Re-download? But I didn't download Untimate Fix yet...
4. Open the "# Crack" folder in the Fix and drag & drop the .exe and .dll file in there to: C:\Program Files (x86)\The Sims 3\Game\Bin and choose "Replace" on the pop-up that appears, telling you the files already exist in that folder.
Like how it's demonstrated in the Youtube video you posted, "The Sims 3 Ultimate Fix installation video by *Games4theworld*"

No, I didn't. I didn't even download Generation/Ambitions/Late Night yet because after it finishes downloading, I have to mount it and crack it in order to install it,
but someone here said that I shouldn't do that. Without mounting and cracking it, I can't install it in order to use Ultimate Fix...which is suppose to crack it? Ugh..I'm confused.. Sad

With G4TW downloads of The Sims 3, just have to run a setup.exe to install it, along with open the # Installation Guide.txt that is provided with the download to get a key for it.

With the Ultimate Fix, all needed cracking is done with it. So all that is needed to install a expansion is download the torrent, extract with WinRAR, run the setup.exe open # Installation Guide.txt grab a key, paste when you get to the step in the installation that needs a key, and wait for it to finish.

Slightly different for the Base because you do need to mount those, but only ones you do need to mount.

Hello,

Did you download the expansions from Games4theworld? (Because those do not need mounting at all)

Ok, I'm gonna start downloading expansions from Games4theworld. I'll let you know if I have any problems. thanks.

//EDIT

Wow, already I'm having a problem on the first step. I can't click on "Get This Torrent"....I don't know why.

EDIT: Never mind, I got it to work. I just needed to get utorrent, instead of daemon tools.

//EDIT

I'm really sorry for tripple posting..but I have to bump this to alert you guys.

About the manual patch, do I really need it? My game is already updated to 1.38.

If it's already there, there isn't a need, just if you run into some issues try the manual patch see if that fixes it.

In the folder, on the menu bar, Click on Tools, then click on Folder Options..., then click on the tab on top named View, there is a option for "Hide extensions for known file types" uncheck that, hit apply and close the window. Back at your folder, right click on the file, click rename, and at the end highlight it, if it says .file rename it to .rar, if it says nothing just add .rar to the end of it. Then it should be recognized and use WinRar to extract it.

Can undo the Hide extensions for known file types is you wish.

Hope it helps, let us know the results.

It worked! Thank you for your help.

After playing it for half an hour, everything seems fine. However, there seems to be some lagging...which is weird because my laptop is pretty strong. Is it because I have 3 expansion packs now? Do I have to lower my graphic settings?

First, make sure your graphics card is up to date, if unsure how, post specs of your computer here, OS, Bit 32/64, Graphics cards. Speccy can help! And we'll get you the latest driver.

Try this out. https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t4692-game-lag-possible-fixes

If that doesn't do enough try to lower your graphics settings to the lowest, and see if that does improve, can push them back up if it does, if it doesn't let us know.

Also I try to kill background task, like Instant Messengers, Skype, MSN, etc. and other non-existing stuff.

Atm my System idling with Chrome/Skype/MSN/Google Talk/Core Temp, only doing upwards of 10% of my cpu, but nearly a half of my 3 GB(2.75 GB usable) of RAM is used, and 400 MB of that is Chrome, so that makes it a quarter of my RAM process, but I close out of programs, and run GameBooster when playing, so it gets me below like 500 MB of ram, so The Sims 3 has more-so or less access to the 2 GB it can use.

Hope it helps, let us know the results.

I read the "How to install The Sims 3 correctly", but I have questions...please help. [SOLVED] 2n6dn2c

And I only have Skype, I use Chrome browser too. I guess I can try Gamebooster, but someone said that it won't make a difference with a high-end laptop, and my laptop is considered high-end.

I just don't want to lower my graphic settings. I paid $900 for that laptop, just to be sure that it'll play the game smoothly with no problems. I bought it a few months ago.

I don't have mods (I'm not planning on getting mods like overwatch, at least not yet), I don't have CC anymore, and I'm not quite sure what cheatconsole and resetsim means.

Yeah, wasn't actually expecting a screenshot of it, just was expecting you to write the info.

Intel Graphics Card, Unsure what it actually is, but check this link. http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/graphics

Nvidia Graphics Card. Think this is the correct link for you.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-306.23-whql-driver.html

Once you update, reboot and try playing, hope it helps, and let us know the results.

XD Skype on my computer is the one that takes up the most RAM, not that it will probably matter for you. Also Gamebooster might not do a increase for you, since you do have quite a decent system.

lol well using screenshot is faster than typing the whole thing.

Thanks for the links, I'll try them out.

Should I consider the Nvidia Control Panel, maybe I should tweak the settings a bit. Do you have Nvidia?

What is cheatconsole and resetsim? Is that like testingcheatsenabled true?

Yeah, I have Nvidia, but I didn't mess with the settings in the control panel, I don't really understand what they mean, so didn't want to.

The cheat console is how you type in the cheats, Ctrl+Shift+C, resetsim does if your sim gets stuck, can use it, not sure, haven't used it tho.

Post by Guest Thu 20 Sep 2012, 20:26

Ok, so after updating my drivers and all that, I played the game for while. It was still lagging a little, but not as much. So I did what I really didn't wanna do. I lowered my graphic settings a bit, from 'very high' to 'high', and with lighting/shadows I lowered it to medium. I can't tell you how much I hated doing that. I've really wanted to play the game in max settings, that's why I bought this laptop in the first place.

Anyway, I played the game again, and it was a bit better, but slightly jittery, especially when you go to Bridgeport.

P.S. I also uninstalled Skype (because you never know), I don't really use it much anyway.

It makes me wonder if I have to lower the settings even more when I install Seasons. Seasons will probably be really tough. So I'm nervous.

I'm kinda iffy on using Overwatch, because I heard that mods can mess up the game when you installed another expansion pack or if you have to upgrade your patches. So I think a couple weeks after Seasons comes out, I'll get Overwatch to see how it works for me.

I asked you about Nvidia Control Panel because a week ago, I did some tweaking and you'd be surprised at how incorrect it was. For example, on Program Settings where it says "select a program to customize", you're suppose to use ts3w.exe instead of sims3launcher.exe. And where it says "select a preferred graphic processor", you're suppose to use high-performance Nvidia processor.

After I did that, my game ran so smoothly with all max settings and it looked amazing.....but that was before I installed those 3 expansion packs....now I have to find some way to make it better again... Facepalm

Might have to re-add the TS3W.exe since it is a different file, not sure if Nvidia noticed it or not.

Just wanted to check if it was your graphics card causing the issues, so even lowering them slightly to see a improvement does do the job.

Heh, I had only the Sims3launcher.exe on it, so added the Sims3launcherW.exe and ts3w.exe, Only have the one graphic card on my computer. But yeah Thanks, I didn't have much issue so didn't try to, will have to check it out tomorrow if it seems to run any better.

Let us know the results.

The game is still a little laggy. I admit, I got spoiled with how amazing my game ran, before I installed the 3 expansion packs. But now every time I see something that is slightly jittery, I get disappointed.

I installed the recent Nvidia Driver 306.23, but I heard that 301.34, which is older, has Adaptive Vertical Sync that makes PC games run like a dream....So I'm thinking I should switch to that driver.

I don't know how to uninstall 306.23. I know I can use "remove or change a program", but I heard it doesn't remove the whole thing completely, as there are some folders that get left behind, which prevents me from installing 301.34.

And I heard that you can't uninstall it with Device Manager anymore.

Drivers since the 301.34 should have it, and bugfixed versions, so 306.23 will do a better job then 301.34.

Doesn't seem like that 3 addition expansions would cause that much issue.

Hello,

"Remove or change a program" should take care of the drivers!
Just be sure to restart your PC afterwards.

I found a solution! I discovered that I have 'Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel'. So I did a little tweaking there, and my game ran smoothly again, and with all max settings too! There was lagging occasionally, but I guess that's what you'd expect from these PC games, especially The Sims 3. I realized that I would be extremely picky, and obsessing over those tiny little jagged lines, but then I snapped myself out of it. It's playing really well now, and it gets the job done. Now I get to really enjoy the 3 expansion packs, which I thank Games4TheWorld greatly.

Anyway, thank you guys for helping me through this. I really appreciate it. Smile
