Unable to start the game because origin..

Hi all,

Before this, i don't have any problem in start and playing my the sims 4.

But after couples of months i'm been busy and now i want to play it again, suddenly i cannot even open the games because of this origin.. 

it says "Unable to start: Origin is currently not running. Please make sure that Origin is running before attempting to play the Sims 4." 

as what i remember i don't have any problem like this before.. 

do i need to uninstall and download all installer from https://games4theworld.org/downloads/ n follow the installer steps. 

because all my sims 4 games are from other resources, such as DVDs (not original) and the sims 4 based from this website..

Sorry for the late reply @no-rule 2, 


If you have a program installed named "Lavasoft Web Companion", please uninstall it, and then re-boot the computer. After which, please try running TS4 again. Some other fringe-solutions can be found in the thread here, so you might want to check that out as well:

I have the same problem , the worst problem is that the damn fix is not clear , everyone says download the fix but I just cant find that thing , it says 'click here to download" but its not clickable there is no download link

use this:

Solution: If your game is installed (addons plus fix also) to "C:\Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4" just rename that "The Sims 4" without that last space so it looks like "The Sims4" and it will start without that error

Welcome to the Forum @satsuki201 and sorry for the belated reply,

The Forum had been inactive for some time, and we're just slowly getting back on track again. As for the "fix" you are talking about, the download links have been removed. That "Ultimate Fix" is nowadays mostly used for the patch that people apply on their basegames of The Sims 4, and which gives them the latest base game update without DLC (easier to download due to the much smaller filesize, and usable by people with slower/older computers which cannot easily run the DLC).

That fix is not, or not directly intended for your type of problem. Like I hinted in my reply to the other user above.

You have to configure anti-virus exclusions properly, first of all. Then you can download apply a fresh "Game"-folder, which for your problem is a fresh set of cracked files.
